Director, Teen Leadership & Engagement
Quick Overview
Job Description
Director, Teen Leadership and Engagement
Salary: $80,000
Sid Jacobson JCC (SJJCC) is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven leader to help grow teen leadership and engagement throughout Long Island's vibrant Jewish community.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Children and Families and working closely with the Managing Director, Jewish Life and RCFI, you'll build authentic relationships with teens and their families while leading initiatives that strengthen Jewish identity, develop leadership, deepen connections to Israel, and foster a strong sense of community.
You'll play a key role in launching the Omer Neutra Leadership Academy, lead SJJCC's partnership with BBYO, and help grow Project Israel and Project Understanding. Together, these initiatives represent some of SJJCC's most significant investments in Jewish teens and the future of our community.
This is a hands-on, collaborative role for someone who enjoys working with young people, brings positive energy, likes being out in the community, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where every day is different.
Because many programs take place after school, this position includes regular evenings and occasional weekends. We believe in flexibility and work with our team to balance schedules when those commitments arise. This is primarily an on-site role because the relationships you build with teens, families, and the community are central to your success.
What Success Looks Like

Teens want to come back and bring their friends.

Build Relationships
Relationships are at the heart of this role.

You'll also build strong relationships with families, schools, synagogues, BBYO, community partners, and colleagues across SJJCC.
Build authentic relationships with teens and become a trusted mentor and resource.
Recruit and retain teens by creating experiences they genuinely want to be part of.
Build strong partnerships with families, schools, synagogues, BBYO, and community organizations.

The Right Person
You don't need to have held this exact title before. We're looking for someone who:
Naturally connects with middle and high school students and builds genuine relationships.
Brings energy, creativity, initiative, and a positive attitude.
Wants to build something, not simply maintain it.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance multiple priorities.
Enjoys working with teens, families, schools, community partners, and colleagues across SJJCC.
Is a collaborative team player who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
Has a passion for Jewish life and helping teens build lasting connections to their community.

Experience working with teens through camps, youth organizations, schools, synagogues, JCCs, Hillel, BBYO, or similar organizations preferred.
Experience supervising staff, interns, or volunteers is a plus.
Collaborate and Lead

Supervise, mentor, and support the Teen Services Coordinator.
Partner with colleagues across SJJCC to strengthen Jewish teen leadership and engagement.
