Job Description

Overview Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Network Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community Customer in Joint Base Anacostia-Bol ling. As a Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining unified communication systems. You will work closely with our Network and Systems Engineering teams to ensure the successful deployment and ongoing support of unified communication solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of various unified communication technologies and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends. The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally. Responsibilities * Creates/modifies network drawings, author system engineering documents and plans. * Supports designs, tests, and pre-deployment readiness reviews. * Supports the network operations of the Production system. * Provides the team with recommendations on modern engineering approaches and strategies to improve successful task order deployments. * Develops, implements, and manages network engineering processes including configuration management and design standards to ensure contract compliance, technological relevancy, and sustainability. * Performs capacity planning of the network by monitoring and analyzing network performance and availability. * Proactively researches and evaluates tools and technologies, as appropriate, to the network environment, while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership. Must be able to support 2nd or 3rd shift hours - t his position is 100% onsite. Qualifications Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI. Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelors degree in engineering (or similar technical field) and eight (8+) years relevant experience; Masters degree and six (6+) years of relevant experience; PhD with three (3+) years of experience. 12 years of relevant experience in the above-cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a completed higher education degree. Required Certifications: * A current/valid IAT LVL III Certification (Security+ CE, CCNP, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, and CCSP). Required Skills: * Experience with the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure solutions for routing and switching of complex networks. * Experience implementing and troubleshooting WAN topologies leveraging ethernet, T-Carrier, and Optical Carrier circuits. * Experience and understanding of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP). * Implementation and troubleshooting experience of networks using concepts/protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs and emerging concepts such as Software Defined Networking. * Prior experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer. Desired Skills: * An Engineering degree with a networking focus. * Eight (8+) total years of experience in the architecture/design, development, and implementation of Wide Area Network (WAN) architecture. * Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills. * Experience using Python to automate routine network tasks. * Understanding and experience with Software Defined Network (SDN) deployments. * Juniper Enterprise Routing and Switching, Professional (JNCIP-ENT). * Advanced Network monitoring and log analysis tool experience with the ability to deploy and improve the current deployments of these systems. * Experience working in a telecommunications carrier environment performing mission critical network implementations. * Self-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others. * Experience with application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security contr ols.
