Role: Rubrik Backup Administrator / Linux Administrator

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Rubrik Backup Administrator with Linux Administration experience to support enterprise-level data protection and secure backup operations. The role will focus primarily on managing and maintaining Rubrik backup environments across physical servers, virtual platforms, storage systems, and Microsoft 365 workloads. The selected candidate will also provide Linux administration support, including system maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting as the backup environment becomes fully optimized.

This position requires experience working in secure, compliance-focused environments and the ability to support critical backup, recovery, and infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Rubrik Backup Administration

• Manage and maintain enterprise Rubrik backup infrastructure supporting physical servers, virtual machines, NetApp storage environments, and Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
• Perform daily backup monitoring, investigate failures, troubleshoot issues, and execute recovery/restoration activities across supported platforms.
• Administer both physical and virtual Rubrik appliances, including configuration, maintenance, and operational support.
• Configure and manage data replication, archival, and tiering workflows between on-premises environments and cloud storage platforms.
• Ensure backup operations align with enterprise security standards, compliance requirements, and regulated network policies.
• Support backup incident response activities, recovery validation, audit requests, and disaster recovery testing.
• Review backup performance, identify risks, and implement improvements to enhance reliability and availability.

Linux Administration Support

• Provide Linux system administration support as part of infrastructure operations.
• Perform OS patching, system updates, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance activities.
• Assist with Linux server health monitoring, issue resolution, and operational support.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to resolve system-related issues.
• Expand Linux administration responsibilities as knowledge of the environment and operational requirements increase.

Required Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience administering and supporting Rubrik backup solutions in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with backup and recovery operations involving:
  • Physical servers
  • Virtual machines
  • NetApp storage platforms
  • Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams)
• Experience performing backup restores, troubleshooting failures, and validating recovery processes.
• Experience managing physical and virtual Rubrik appliances.
• Knowledge of backup replication, archival, and cloud data protection strategies.
• Strong understanding of enterprise backup concepts, disaster recovery, data protection, and recovery procedures.
• Experience supporting Linux environments, including patching and system troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with infrastructure and security teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting secure, regulated, or compliance-driven environments such as government, defense, or restricted networks.
• Familiarity with enterprise security practices and controlled infrastructure environments.
• Experience with Linux system administration tools and operational processes.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage critical incidents.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with scripting or automation using tools such as Bash, Python, or similar technologies for backup and Linux operations.
• Experience improving backup workflows through automation and operational enhancements.
• Knowledge of additional backup, storage, or cloud infrastructure technologies.
