Data Analytics Engineer

Data Analytics Engineer | Hybrid | Basingstoke We're working with a growing financial services business looking to bring in a Data Analytics Engineer to help build out their data platform from the ground up. You'll own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products - ingestion, modelling and presentation - working closely with stakeholders across the business to turn raw data into something they can actually use and act on.

What you'll be doing:

Designing and building performant data ingestion pipelines using Apache Spark, ideally within Azure Databricks<br />Contributing to the platform's data modelling and architecture<br />Building dashboards and semantic models, and presenting these directly to stakeholders<br />Working across the full pipeline from source systems to target repositories, with a strong focus on data quality<br />Collaborating with Data Scientists to help productionise ML pipelines<br />Operating within an Agile/DevOps environment<br />What we're looking for: Strong SQL and Python skills<br />Solid understanding of Lakehouse architecture and data management principles<br />Hands-on experience with Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Storage, DevOps)<br />Experience designing Star Schema data models for Power BI<br />5+ years' experience building data platforms in a commercial setting<br />Nice to have: Real-time pipeline experience<br />Azure Data Engineer certification<br />Exposure to Kafka or other open-source tools<br />Background in a regulated industry (finance/insurance)<br />Details: £60,000 - £70,000<br />Permanent position<br />Hybrid (Basingstoke)
