Senior PowerBuilder Developer

Position Summary
As a Senior PowerBuilder Developer, you will be a hands-on technical contributor responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and migrating business-critical legacy enterprise applications from a legacy on-premises data center to a new enterprise data center. You will support PowerBuilder applications, legacy Microsoft technologies, SQL Server databases, and application infrastructure while ensuring successful migration and operational continuity.
You will collaborate with application development, database, infrastructure, QA, and operations teams to remediate legacy applications, support migration activities, and maintain application stability throughout the migration lifecycle.
What You'll Do
Legacy Application Migration
- Assess application dependencies across PowerBuilder applications, databases, interfaces, scheduled jobs, and supporting infrastructure.
- Support remediation, migration, deployment, cutover, rollback, and stabilization of legacy applications.
- Validate application compatibility in target environments.
- Support legacy application modernization with minimal functional changes.
Legacy Application Development
- Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using PowerBuilder.
- Modify PowerBuilder objects, windows, menus, data windows, user objects, and application components.
- Support VB6 and VBS macro updates where required.
- Modify SQL scripts, stored procedures, and application configuration settings supporting legacy applications.
- Troubleshoot application, SQL Server, and environment-specific issues.
Operational Support
- Develop migration documentation, deployment procedures, configuration documentation, and operational runbooks.
- Support production deployments, release activities, and production stabilization.
- Participate in root cause analysis and production support.
- Support monitoring, logging, and operational readiness activities.
AI-Assisted Engineering
- Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools to support code analysis, documentation, SQL optimization, troubleshooting, and automation of repetitive development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- Experience supporting enterprise legacy application migration projects.
- Strong experience with:
- PowerBuilder
- PowerBuilder IDE
- PowerBuilder Foundation Classes (PFC)
- SQL Server
- T-SQL
- Stored Procedures
- VB6
- VBS Macros
- Experience with Windows Server environments.
- Experience with Jira and ServiceNow.
- Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across legacy applications, databases, and production environments.
