The Opportunity

Join a leading digital and cyber consultancy supporting critical National Security programmes across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced AWS Solution Architect to play a key role in shaping large-scale cloud adoption and migration strategies, helping organisations design, implement and optimise secure cloud environments.

Working closely with customers, architects and engineering teams, you'll define cloud architectures, establish best practices and ensure cloud migrations are delivered securely, efficiently and at scale.

Key Responsibilities of an AWS Solution Architect

• Lead cloud migration and adoption initiatives for complex AWS environments
• Define AWS architecture standards, patterns, roadmaps and reference architectures
• Work closely with customers to understand requirements and develop cloud solutions
• Support engineering teams in optimising migration strategies and cloud deployments
• Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code best practices
• Conduct architecture reviews and recommend improvements
• Act as a technical escalation point for engineering and operational teams
• Promote the adoption of reusable cloud patterns and deployment frameworks
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and architectural standards

What We're Looking For in an AWS Solution Architect

• Strong experience designing and delivering AWS cloud architectures
• Proven experience leading cloud migration programmes
• Deep understanding of AWS services and multi-account cloud environments
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling
• Knowledge of AWS networking, security and cloud governance principles
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead technical discussions and influence architectural decisions

Desirable Experience

• AWS Certifications including Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
• AWS Security or Advanced Networking certifications
• SAFe, ScrumScale or other Agile certifications
• Experience mentoring engineers and technical teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership experience
