Are you a mechanically biased Reliability Engineer, Condition Monitoring Engineer or Predictive Maintenance Engineer with experience of vibration analysis, rotating equipment and root cause investigation?
We are recruiting for a hands-on Reliability Engineer to improve the availability, performanceand long-term reliability of anaerobic digestion plants and gas-upgrading equipment across the East of England and the UK.
This is not a desk-based role. You will work directly with maintenance teams, plant operators and engine technicians, using condition monitoring and reliability-engineering techniques to identify faults early, prevent repeat failures and reduce unplanned downtime.

As Reliability Engineer, you will:
- Carry out vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis and LDAR condition monitoring
- Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations into repeat failures and plant breakdowns
- Complete FMEA assessments on critical equipment, systems and processes
- Build and develop predictive maintenance routes across multiple sites
- Analyse condition-monitoring data and produce clear technical reports
- Raise maintenance actions and record findings within the CMMS
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and support rapid plant recovery
- Recommend equipment upgrades, maintenance improvements and corrective actions
- Work closely with maintenance teams, engine technicians and plant operators
- Travel to biogas plants and other sites across the UK
The role is focused on improving asset health, preventing unnecessary downtime and increasing the reliability of anaerobic digestion plants and associated equipment.
What we're looking for
- Strong mechanical engineering background
- Good knowledge of rotating equipment and common failure modes
- Experience in condition monitoring or predictive maintenance
- Vibration Analysis qualification
- Ability to interpret condition-monitoring data and produce accurate reports
- Experience leading Root Cause Analysis investigations
- Knowledge of FMEA or similar reliability tools
- Experience using CMMS or predictive maintenance software
- Willingness to travel extensively and occasionally work independently
- Strong communication and IT skills

Ideally, you will have:
Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent experience
NVQ Level 2 or above in a mechanical discipline
BINDT or Mobius CAT I or CAT II qualification
Lubrication or thermography qualification
Formal training in RCA or FMEA
