Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Radnor, PA 19087 | 3 days onsite – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

Duration:  6 months (potential full time hire after contract period - no visa sponsorship)

 

Job Overview: 

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is accountable for the organization’s data center infrastructure services—both on-premises and hosted—as well as the Microsoft 365 environment and related hardware and software supporting these functions. Responsibilities include supporting physical and virtual on-premises data center technologies, along with comparable cloud-based services such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Experience delivering small-to-medium-scale infrastructure projects within multi-site, mid-to-large manufacturing organizations is essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact with infrastructure managed service providers (MSPs) to troubleshoot and resolve service delivery issues and support process enhancements to improve service reliability and responsiveness.
  • Provide IT support to customers using Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh, iOS, or Android devices.
  • Monitor data center infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and collaborate with MSPs to propose solutions and oversee their implementation.
  • Implement of changes and improvements across platforms and services—including operating systems, physical and virtual servers, and storage—in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Deploy, maintain, and support Azure and Microsoft 365 capabilities, striving for improved usability, cost-effectiveness, and standardization of subscribed services.
  • Support the development and integration of security solutions across the infrastructure, including Azure Active Directory federation with SaaS and other applications.
  • Review and execute disaster recovery procedures aligned with organizational expectations.
  • Implement solutions aimed at streamlining end-user support, providing training on new services, and encouraging adoption by technology teams and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for standards and operating procedures.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of IaaS best practices in servers, storage, and network security, applying these principles to deliver available, secure infrastructure services.
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of small-to-medium infrastructure improvement projects.

 

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience), with three to seven years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in supporting Windows-based computing environments, virtualization, storage management, and disaster recovery.
  • Advanced proficiency with Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing, enhancing, and maintaining Azure environments, including primary and failover configurations.
  • Proven expertise in managing cloud-based services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Skilled in administering and leveraging the Microsoft 365 suite to optimize user experience and collaboration capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and monitor project outcomes; experienced in leading moderately complex projects and utilizing project management tools (e.g., Planner, MS Project).
  • Experienced in engaging and managing relationships with MSPs, ensuring accountability for service provision.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in reading, writing, grammar, and critical thinking, along with the capability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
