Multi-Skilled Engineer

Join our dynamic team as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, a critical role within our organization responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of a variety of systems and equipment across multiple disciplines. This position is ideal for someone with expertise in mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering, providing comprehensive support for our manufacturing, production, and facility operations.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Schedule and perform maintenance on all machinery, including servicing, repairs, and inspections, ensuring high standards and adherence to record-keeping and hygienic hand back to production.
- Operate and maintain service plant systems such as boilers, chilled water, air, and effluent treatment.
- Engage in the design and implementation of new systems and upgrades, including the installation and movement of existing machines.
- Collaborate with production operators in loss reduction and efficiency improvement activities.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adopt a "clean as you go" culture.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Multi-skilled with a great team working ethic.
- Recognised engineering accreditation in electrical, with an optional mechanical qualification (e.g., recognised apprenticeship, ONC, City and Guilds, or 17th/18th edition IEE).
- Experience working in a UK retailer or BRCGS accredited food factory is preferred, but candidates from non-food backgrounds who can adhere to good food hygiene principles will also be considered.
- Ability to work independently, alongside skilled operators, and within a wider engineering team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen and value the opinions of others.
- Understanding of the importance of accurate record-keeping for quality, food safety, and personal safety.
