Job Description

Senior Systems Administrator | Hartford, IL, United States | Hybrid | $92,300.00 - $165,850.00 This employer is a leading technology solutions provider for government and commercial customers, recognised for its impactful innovations and commitment to advancing critical missions. They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join their dynamic IT operations team, contributing to the development and security of mission-critical systems. The Role • Lead system administration for classified Linux and Windows-based systems within secure, high-performance environments. • Architect, manage, and maintain complex server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure (VMware, KVM). • Perform OS installation, configuration, hardening, and patching in compliance with security standards (DoD STIGs). • Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve complex issues for optimal availability and reliability. • Support backup/recovery strategies, disaster recovery plans, and continuity of operations. • Oversee and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code for efficient system management. What You'll Need • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 8-12 years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph. • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP). • Proven experience with Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS) and Windows Server administration. • Proficiency with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM) and automation/scripting tools (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell). • Familiarity with STIG compliance, system hardening, and security best practices in government environments.
