Job Description

At McLaren Racing, we’re not just here to try to take the chequered flag. We’re here to excite our fans, inspire our people and deliver for our partners. And we’re also committed to evolving our sport, our industry, and our technology, too.

As a Computed Tomography Trainee within our Quality team, you will support the inspection, validation and quality assurance of components using advanced computed tomography (CT) technology.

Through a structured training programme, you will develop specialist skills in CT scanning, data evaluation and technical reporting, helping to ensure that manufactured components meet exacting engineering and performance standards. This is an excellent opportunity to build technical expertise within a high-performance engineering environment

What You'll Do

  • Support the preparation, setup and scanning of components in line with established procedures and training requirements.
  • Assist with CT inspection activities, evaluating scan data and validating components under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Produce accurate technical reports and inspection records based on CT findings.
  • Support the operation of CT systems to deliver high-quality inspection data that meets manufacturing and service requirements.
  • Contribute to departmental objectives by maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping while actively participating in training and development activities.

What You'll Bring

  • A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a science, engineering or motorsport-related discipline.
  • A strong interest in technology and a willingness to learn new processes, software and inspection techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong computer literacy.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or technical environment or an awareness of non-destructive testing methods would be advantageous, but not essential.

Personal Attributes

  • Collaborative and supportive, with a positive approach to teamwork.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and eager to develop new technical skills.
  • Methodical and focused, with the ability to follow procedures accurately and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Flexible and conscientious, demonstrating ownership and accountability for your work.
  • Professional and respectful in your interactions, contributing positively to team culture and performance.

Success in racing comes from bringing together talented people with different skills, perspectives and experiences. We're committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone feels supported and empowered to deliver their best work.

Every role has the potential to drive high performance. You'll be part of a team united by a shared ambition to push boundaries and embody our racing mindset. We invest in our people through opportunities to develop and grow, creating an environment where individuals and teams can thrive.

Alongside a range of wellbeing initiatives and development opportunities, we're committed to helping you build a rewarding career and make your mark at McLaren Racing.
