Google Cloud Platform Platform Engineering Lead

Job Summary The Google Cloud Platform Platform Engineering Lead will be responsible for building and operating internal platform capabilities that enable secure and scalable application onboarding on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The role focuses on automation, golden paths, security guardrails, platform reliability, governance, and continuous improvement while leading platform engineering delivery in production-grade environments.

Key Responsibilities Lead platform engineering delivery for application onboarding automation. Develop and maintain Terraform modules, pipelines, validations, and other platform automation capabilities. Build and maintain golden paths that enable secure and scalable application onboarding on Google Cloud Platform. Define and maintain engineering standards for Terraform module quality, state management strategy, pull request controls, and drift management. Embed security-by-default guardrails across platform engineering capabilities.

Partner with security and governance teams to support compliance evidence automation. Operate and maintain production-grade internal platform capabilities. Manage platform reliability, incident response, SLOs, and SLAs. Drive continuous improvement to increase platform stability and reduce operational effort. Lead platform engineering teams and promote consistent engineering and operational practices. Improve platform adoption and reduce application onboarding lead times through automation and standardized processes.

Required Qualifications Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). Strong hands-on experience with Terraform at scale. Strong Python automation experience. Experience developing infrastructure and application onboarding automation. Experience with Terraform modules, pipelines, validations, state management, and drift management. Experience leading platform engineering teams. Experience building and operating production-grade internal platforms. Strong understanding of platform reliability, incident response, SLOs, and SLAs.

Strong security and governance mindset with experience working in regulated environments. Experience implementing security guardrails and standardized engineering practices.

Education: Bachelors Degree
