Job Description

At Universal Quantum, we aim to make the world a better place by developing a new computer technology. Together, we are creating truly impactful quantum computers. Our machines will be capable of solving problems until now considered impossible, with applications ranging across a broad range of industries, including healthcare, materials and aerospace. We are seeking to hire an Electronics Engineering (m/f/d) within the electronics team to enable Quantum technologies.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Produce high quality, full-custom, mixed-signal integrated circuit layouts
  • Contribute to the development of innovative IC designs
  • Work across all levels of the design from base cells to chip top-level
  • Collaborate closely with designers to understand specific circuit requirements
  • Deliver DRC/LVS clean layout within project schedules
  • Implement designs on a variety of fabrication processes

1. IC layout experience across all levels of the design hierarchy

2. Flexibility to adapt and learn new tools and processes

3. Ability to take ownership of large-scale layout blocks

Must-have Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years experience of IC Layout
  • Proficient with CAD layout tools
  • Deep understanding of technologies
  • Competent with device matching techniques and routing of sensitive signals
  • Experience of floor-planning and chip assembly
  • Ability to independently interpret DRC and LVS results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with people in different functions
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Familiarisation with auto-routing/physical implementation tools
  • Experience with layout of high-voltage devices
  • Ability to use scripting languages (Python, Perl, SKILL)
