Python Application Developer
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Python Application Developer to join an enterprise technology team focused on building modern applications, improving internal processes, and developing AI-enabled automation solutions. This role will work closely with an 18-person technology team to enhance internal tools, improve data management processes, and deliver scalable solutions using Python, SQL, APIs, and emerging AI technologies.
Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support enterprise applications using Python and modern development practices.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver scalable technology solutions.
• Enhance and expand internal AI agents and automation solutions to improve efficiency.
• Build and enhance internal databases while integrating data from multiple enterprise sources.
• Replace manual spreadsheet-based processes with database-driven applications and user interfaces.
• Improve client data collection, management, and reporting processes.
• Develop REST APIs and ETL processes to support application and data workflows.
• Design and optimize SQL queries, database objects, and data models.
• Support production applications, troubleshoot issues, and improve system reliability.
• Utilize tools such as GitLab and Splunk to support development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes, Agile delivery practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of application development experience.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Advanced SQL and database development skills (Oracle preferred).
• Experience with REST API development and integration.
• Experience with ETL processes and data modeling.
• Experience with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and source control practices.
• Experience with Splunk and Google App Engine.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JavaScript and/or Node.js.
• Experience building or enhancing AI agents.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools, Generative AI, or machine learning concepts.
• Experience supporting enterprise production applications.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Financial services industry experience preferred but not required.
