Job Description

Position: QA Automation Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC(Onsite/Hybrid)

Duration: Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a senior-level QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated testing solutions for complex product configuration and pricing ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have direct experience automating workflows within the Paradigm Platform (Omni, Vendo, or Nexus) used heavily across major retail and manufacturing environments like Lowe s Home Improvement.

In this role, you will be responsible for building robust automation scripts to validate complex, data-driven catalog logic, dynamic pricing matrices, and seamless end-to-end (E2E) integration flows.

Core Responsibilities

  • Advanced CPQ Testing: Design and maintain automated test scripts to validate highly complex product configurators, ensuring dynamic rules, manufacturing constraints, and real-time pricing matrices function flawlessly.
  • Framework Development & Migration: Work within an existing automation framework, while driving the adoption, design, and implementation of Playwright (or Selenium) for modern web components, shadow DOMs, and nested iframes.
  • End-to-End Validation: Map and execute comprehensive E2E testing scenarios that track data from the initial retail configuration/quote stage through down-stream order management and retail Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Data-Driven Automation: Manage large datasets required to test infinite product permutations, ensuring pricing engines pull accurately from underlying ERP/catalog databases.
  • Defect Isolation: Root-cause complex application failures in dynamic web environments, collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and retail client stakeholders to accelerate resolution.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Platform Expertise: Hands-on QA automation experience within the Paradigm Platform (specifically Paradigm Omni; experience with Vendo or Nexus is highly valued).
    • Alternative Requirement: In the absence of direct Paradigm experience, we will consider candidates with extensive experience automating similar enterprise Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) platforms (e.g., Salesforce CPQ, Oracle BigMachines, SAP CPQ) or highly complex custom retail product configurators.
  • Automation Tooling: Minimum of 3 5 years of dedicated web automation experience. Strong proficiency in Playwright is highly preferred; advanced Selenium WebDriver experience is required if Playwright exposure is light.
  • Core Language: Proficient in Java for test development, with a deep understanding of OOP (Object-Oriented Programming) principles, Page Object Models (POM), and test runners (TestNG/JUnit).
  • Environment Handling: Proven ability to reliably automate complex UI structures, including nested iframes, heavy AJAX/dynamic content loading, and complex state changes.
  • Data & Integration: Strong SQL skills for database validation and backend data verification. Experience testing REST/SOAP APIs that connect front-end retail portals to backend supply chain systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working on technology initiatives or integrations deployed at major home improvement retailers (e.g., Lowe's, Home Depot).
  • Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with building material/millwork retail workflows.
