Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, configure, and maintain the Alation Data Catalog.
  • Manage user roles, permissions, and security compliance.
  • Onboard and integrate new data sources (SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.).
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot ingestion/lineage issues, and apply upgrades.
  • Support data governance, metadata curation, and catalog optimization.
  • Provide user training, documentation, and L1/L2 support.

Requirements:

  • 3 5+ years in Alation or similar data catalog administration.
  • Strong SQL/Python skills; experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of metadata management and data governance practices.
