Position: Data Center Technician 
Location: Hillsboro, Oregon

Job Description:
 
Key Responsibilities

● Move servers and network switches to designated installation locations.
● Inspect servers and switches for physical damage before installation.
● Perform basic smoke testing and power-on validation to confirm servers are functioning
properly.
● Rack and install servers and switches according to provided requirements.
● Cable servers and switches according to supplied wire maps and diagrams.
● Ensure all cables are properly routed, bundled, labeled, and organized according to
NVIDIA standards.
● Coordinate with network administrators to verify proper cabling and confirm all network
connections are active.
● Install and replace server hardware components including:
○ NICs
○ Hard drives / storage drives
○ Memory / RAM
○ Other required server components

● Assist with unboxing, staging, and preparing servers for deployment.
● Perform audits of servers, hardware inventory, and consumable equipment.
● Maintain accurate documentation related to installations and hardware activities.
● Follow all data center safety, security, and operational procedures.

L1 Technician Requirements

● Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a data center, server, hardware, or
infrastructure environment.
● Experience with rack-and-stack activities.
● Hands-on server and switch installation experience.
● Experience with network and server cabling.
● Ability to read and follow wire maps and cabling diagrams.
● Basic understanding of server hardware components.
● Experience installing or replacing RAM, NICs, drives, or similar components.
● Ability to perform basic hardware validation and troubleshooting.
● Strong attention to detail and cable-management standards.
● Ability to work 100% onsite in Hillsboro, Oregon.
● Previous experience working in large-scale enterprise data centers.
● Experience supporting GPU, high-performance computing, or large server environments.
● Experience with structured cabling and cable-management standards.
● Familiarity with server inventory and asset auditing.
