Description:
Remote to start hybrid upon conversion to full time: Must be located within commuting distance of Bellevue, WA; Madison, NJ; New York City (Union Square); or Boston (Back Bay) for eventual hybrid conversion (3 days onsite per week).
Our client is seeking a Sr. Engineer, HCM Integrations to lead Oracle HCM and enterprise HR integrations. The role provides architecture leadership, production support, engineering oversight, and operational continuity across HR, payroll, benefits, and enterprise platforms. The position requires hands-on expertise with Oracle HCM Cloud, Oracle Integration Cloud, HCM APIs, integrations, workflow automation, security, and enterprise system architecture. The engagement is contract-to-hire with target conversion within six months.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:
  • Lead design, development, support, and optimization of Oracle HCM integrations.
  • Serve as technical lead and escalation point for HCM-related integration issues.
  • Architect and support integrations with payroll systems, benefits platforms, retirement providers, equity and stock administration systems, identity and access management platforms, and enterprise business systems.
  • Provide architecture reviews, code reviews, testing oversight, deployment support, and production troubleshooting.
  • Establish best practices for CI/CD, source control, monitoring, documentation, automated testing, and release management.
  • Develop runbooks, cross-training plans, and knowledge transfer initiatives.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Security, IT, and third-party vendors.
  • Mentor engineers and promote consistent engineering standards and operational excellence.
  • Support roadmap planning, prioritization, vendor management, and delivery execution.
  • Participate in Agile processes, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Jira reporting.

Experience Requirements:
  • 10+ years of enterprise application engineering, HCM technology, or integrations experience.
  • Strong experience with Oracle HCM Cloud, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Oracle HCM APIs, HCM Extracts, HDL/HSDL, Fast Formulas, Value Sets, Oracle Security and Roles, Areas of Responsibility, HCM Workflows and Approvals, and Visual Builder Studio.
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, SOAP web services, middleware and iPaaS platforms, SFTP and file transfers, event-driven integrations, and batch processing.
  • Lead, Principal, or Staff-level engineering background with enterprise architecture and solution design experience.
  • Production support, incident management, and root cause analysis expertise.
  • Documentation, succession planning, and knowledge transfer experience.
  • Software development lifecycle proficiency including architecture, development, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, deployments, monitoring and observability, release management, Agile methodologies, and Jira backlog and sprint management.
  • Preferred: large-scale Oracle HCM implementations or migrations, support for global teams, experience in SOX-controlled or highly regulated environments, and establishment of on-call rotations, SLAs/SLOs, monitoring frameworks, escalation procedures, and production support models.
  • Preferred: leadership of large portfolios of HCM integrations across multiple vendors and business functions.
