Are you a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment? Do you enjoy building structure, influencing stakeholders and making a real impact? This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly innovative manufacturing and technology-led organisation at a pivotal stage of its journey.

This is not a traditional, policy-driven HR role. Instead, you will be part of a forward-thinking function focused on driving change, improving processes and enabling the business to perform at its best.

The Opportunity

You will join a small, high-impact HR team supporting a growing and technically advanced business. With strong backing from the leadership team, HR is on a transformation journey, moving from reactive and administrative to proactive and value-driven.

This role has been created to provide critical support during a period of change and growth, while also laying the foundations for a more structured and scalable HR function.

Key Responsibilities

Drawing on insights from the current HR lead, your role will include:

  • Policy & Process Development
  • Review, create and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Consolidate and refine existing documentation into clear, practical frameworks
  • Support the development of consistent, scalable HR processes
  • Operational HR Support
  • Manage day-to-day HR queries and provide timely, accurate advice
  • Support employee lifecycle activities including contracts, changes to terms, and documentation
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of HR data and systems
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with line managers across the business
  • Coach and guide managers who may have limited people management experience
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping managers navigate people challenges
  • Recruitment Support & Coordination
  • Drive recruitment processes to conclusion, ensuring pace and efficiency
  • Support hiring managers with best practice and structure
  • Track and manage recruitment activity to ensure visibility and accountability
  • Training & Development Support
  • Assist in delivering internal training sessions (e.g. investigations, return-to-work processes)
  • Contribute to building management capability across the organisation
  • Opportunity to gain exposure to L&D initiatives
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify inefficiencies and proactively suggest improvements
  • Support the implementation of systems, metrics, and reporting
  • Help embed a more proactive, solutions-focused HR approach
  • Generalist HR & Employee Relations
  • Provide support on ER matters with guidance from the HR lead
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal standards
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience in a HR Advisor / Officer level role
  • Strong practical HR knowledge across generalist activities
  • Ability to work at pace and manage multiple priorities
  • Confident decision-maker who can use initiative and “read the room”
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in an evolving, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Good IT and systems capability (essential for improving processes and documentation)
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) desirable but not essential

The Environment

This is a business at the cutting edge of its field, with a strong focus on innovation and future growth. The workforce includes highly skilled technical professionals, and the HR function plays a critical role in enabling their success.

You will be joining at a time where:

  • Significant improvements are being made to systems, processes and structure
  • There is real opportunity to shape how HR operates
  • Leadership is supportive of change and development

The Culture

This is a fast-moving, collaborative environment where initiative, honesty and accountability are highly valued. The business is moving away from traditional, transactional HR and towards a more dynamic, commercially aware approach.

If you are someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, solving problems and building something better, this role offers a genuinely rewarding challenge. Apply Now!
