Job Description
- Position: Zonal Credit Manager - Equipment Finance - North
- Location : Delhi
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Zonal Credit Manager to lead credit for the Equipment Finance business across the assigned geography. The role will be responsible for ensuring maintaining portfolio quality, driving process efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the SME - Equipment Finance credit approval process across the assigned zone.
- Maintain a high-quality portfolio through prudent credit evaluation and risk assessment.
- Analyze portfolio trends, industry developments, delinquency patterns, and recommend changes to underwriting norms and policies.
- Monitor NPAs, Early Defaulters (EDs), and Non-Starters (NS) and implement corrective measures to improve portfolio performance.
- Drive process improvements and reduce turnaround times while maintaining credit quality.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, regulatory guidelines, and risk management frameworks.
- Manage and develop the zonal credit team, including capability building, performance management, and succession planning.
- Coach and guide credit managers on underwriting standards, risk identification, deviations, and mitigants.
- Review and approve loan proposals within delegated authority and escalate higher-value or exception cases as required.
- Evaluate Credit Appraisal Memos, financial statements, legal, technical, FI reports, customer eligibility, property assessment, and end-use verification.
- Collaborate with Sales, Risk, Operations, Legal, and Business teams to achieve balanced growth and portfolio quality.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Preferred CA graduate / Postgraduate in Finance
- 8-12 years of experience in Credit underwriting and Team Handling within NBFCs, Banks, or Financial Institutions.
- Prior experience leading a credit underwriting team in retail banking, NBFC, or housing finance.
- Strong understanding of credit risk, financial analysis, property-backed lending, and portfolio management.
- Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
