Job Title: Cloud Data Migration Engineer (AWS Oracle Migration) -14+ yrs Exp

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) -Local candidates Only

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

• Understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives.
• Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or improve existing computer systems.
• Confer with personnel from organizational units to analyze current operational procedures, identify issues, and gather input/output requirements.
• Document detailed user requirements, program functions, and development or modification steps.
• Review computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine the feasibility of requested programs or system changes.
• Migrate Oracle workloads to AWS using AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
• Design and implement full-load, Change Data Capture (CDC), batch, real-time, and streaming data migration architectures.
• Design and implement AWS infrastructure and networking, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, routing, VPNs, and Direct Connect.
• Utilize AWS cloud services including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and Lambda to support migration solutions.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT processes and data integration methodologies for cloud migration projects.
• Develop scripting and automation solutions using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Configure and manage cloud network security, including VPNs, Direct Connect, and security groups.
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments using AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail.
• Develop comprehensive data migration strategies, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and approaches to minimize downtime.
• Create technical documentation, migration runbooks, architecture diagrams, and implementation guides.
• Support hybrid cloud and on-premises connectivity while modernizing legacy systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to ensure successful migration delivery.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively through written and verbal documentation.

• Experience supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of technology solutions.
• Hands-on experience using AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS) to migrate Oracle databases to AWS.
• Experience with batch and real-time data ingestion, including full-load migrations, Change Data Capture (CDC), and streaming architectures.
• Strong experience designing and implementing AWS infrastructure and networking, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, routing, VPNs, and Direct Connect.
• Experience with core AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and Lambda.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and cloud data integration methodologies.
• Experience with automation and scripting using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience configuring and managing cloud network security.
• Experience using AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail for monitoring and logging.
• Experience developing data migration strategies, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and minimizing downtime.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including documenting technical designs and migration runbooks.
• Experience with hybrid cloud/on-premises connectivity and legacy application modernization.

• AWS certifications such as:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • AWS Certified Database Specialty
