Head of Learning & Development
Location:
Reading, Berkshire (Hybrid working available) Salary:
£48,000–£50,000 + Performance-Related Pay Hours:
Full-time, Monday–Friday
We are seeking an experienced and passionate
Head of Learning & Development
to lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of a diverse portfolio of training and development programmes.
This is a senior role for a learning professional who can combine strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.
The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for managing and developing a programme of training events, learning resources and professional development activity.
You will:
Lead the learning and development function and support the wider development team Oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of training programmes and events Develop engaging learning content across digital and traditional formats Deliver workshops, training sessions and masterclasses Manage relationships with key clients, partners, suppliers and collaborators Monitor performance through reporting, evaluation and feedback Use insights and data to continually improve learning programmes Coordinate networks of mentors, ambassadors and subject matter experts Work closely with senior stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives
About You
You will be an experienced learning and development professional with a proven ability to design, deliver and evaluate impactful training programmes.
You will have: Experience managing multi-strand learning and events programmes Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills Experience creating engaging learning materials and resources Confidence facilitating training sessions and workshops Excellent written and verbal communication skills A proactive approach with strong organisational and prioritisation skills A continuous improvement mindset Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint Familiarity with CRM systems or the ability to learn new systems quickly The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team A willingness to travel across the UK when required Desirable Experience
It would be advantageous if you have: Experience supporting career transition, entrepreneurship or business development programmes Experience working with community, education or professional development initiatives Previous military or emergency service experience A passion for supporting individuals to achieve their goals
