Mechanical or Electrical Engineer (Building Services) – Cambridge An SME building services firm, known for its exceptionally high staff retention, is looking to appoint a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join their team, based in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a few years' experience to work across a varied portfolio of building services projects, playing a hands-on role in design and delivery within a close-knit, supportive team environment where people tend to stay for the long term.

The Role:

Producing mechanical or electrical designs across a range of building services projects<br />Preparing detailed designs, calculations, and specifications<br />Working closely with project managers, senior engineers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification<br />Coordinating with architects and other disciplines to ensure fully integrated designs<br />Ensuring designs comply with current building regulations and industry standardsWhat's Required: A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)<br />3+ years' experience in a building services design role<br />Strong working knowledge of relevant design software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD)<br />Chartered status (or working towards, e.g. CIBSE/IET) would be an advantage<br />Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesWhat's on Offer: Salary of £40,000–£55,000, dependent on experience<br />The opportunity to work within a close-knit SME, with hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle<br />A genuinely supportive team culture reflected in the firm's high staff retention<br />Genuine progression opportunitiesBased in Cambridge, this role would suit an engineer looking to settle into a long-term role with a firm that values technical excellence and a collaborative working culture.
