At present we are looking for a Senior Design Engineer who has a strong experience in complex mechanical subsystem design and integration projects.

The Senior Design Engineer will be on an initial 12-month contract working on hybrid basis at their Derby site. This is a Design Integrator role within the Product Design group for Combustion and Turbines Systems. This Senior Design Engineer position is customer-facing and has such we require excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.


As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and support subsystem design integration across turbine projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth engineering integration.
  • Conduct data analysis and apply reliability and statistical methods to support design decisions.
  • Perform root-cause analysis to resolve technical issues.
  • Contribute to systems engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across teams.

What we require for the Senior Design Engineer position:
  • Proven experience in Senior Design Engineers position, having systems integration experience within complex mechanical systems
  • Strong understanding of engineering integration principles.
  • Experience with data analysis, reliability, and statistical tools.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and manage cross-project collaboration.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
  • Ideally experience in aerospace engines or other gas-turbine based products
