Job Description

Description: Hybrid Mostly Remote in New York, NY Our client is seeking a Junior IT Service Desk Specialist to provide first-level technical support in a Microsoft-based enterprise environment. The specialist will act as the primary point of contact for technical issues, support workstation deployment, and assist with account administration, asset management, and service request fulfillment. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $25.00 to $30.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for end-user technical support requests.
  • Provide Tier 1 support for hardware, software, operating systems, and productivity applications.
  • Log, track, and update incidents and service requests through ticket management platforms.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving VPN, wireless, and wired network connections.
  • Image, configure, deploy, and support end-user workstations and peripheral devices.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including user account administration and password resets.
  • Assist with software deployment, patching, and security update initiatives.
  • Maintain and update IT asset and inventory records.
  • Support hardware decommissioning and sanitization processes.
  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to service ticket reporting and operational status updates.
  • Participate in team meetings and support continuous service improvement efforts.

Experience Requirements:

  • Previous Tier 1 Help Desk or IT Service Desk experience.
  • Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Experience supporting Windows 11 workstations.
  • Experience with workstation imaging, deployment, and configuration.
  • Experience managing user accounts within Active Directory.
  • Experience supporting government, legal, or highly regulated environments. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with remote support tools such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer. (Preferred)
  • Experience with IT asset management and inventory tracking. (Preferred)
  • Exposure to enterprise deployment tools such as SmartDeploy or DeployR. (Preferred)
  • CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals. (Preferred) Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field. (Preferred)
