We're Hiring: Experienced Architectural Graduate OR Early-career Registered Architect

Full time Melbourne Architecture

Contribute to residential, commercial and hospitality projects within an award-winning architecture and interior design studio.

At Carr, great design is shaped by curiosity, rigour and collaboration. We're seeking an Architectural Graduate, Architect or Equivalent to contribute primarily to multi-residential projects, supporting service delivery and project excellence. Working with design leaders, Associates and project teams, this role will produce work across all phases of the architectural process, undertaking professional architectural tasks of appropriate scope and complexity across studio and site-based work.

What you'll do

As our Architectural Graduate, Architect or Equivalent, you'll contribute to the following project outcomes:

  • Contributing to architectural projects across residential, commercial and hospitality sectors, including client liaison, design, contract documentation and some contract administration
  • Supporting the ideas, objectives, requirements and budgets of projects in collaboration with design leaders and project teams
  • Assisting in the creation and development of design concepts, feasibility reports and design proposals
  • Preparing documentation, specifications, schedules, detailed working drawings and presentation material
  • Developing effective relationships with clients, consultants and technical experts
  • Contributing to accurate, timely and high-quality project outputs, including reports, drawings and specifications
  • Working with accuracy, attention to detail and awareness of project budgets, forecasts and delivery requirements
  • Contributing to the day-to-day operations of the Carr studio and the promotion of Carr more broadly
  • Adhering to Quality Assurance protocols and company policies and procedures, including Carr's Quality, Safety and Environment System
What you bring

We're looking for someone who brings curiosity, technical capability and a collaborative approach to architectural practice, including:

  • 4-5 years of experience, primarily on multi-residential projects, preferably with registration in Victoria
  • Experience contributing to architectural projects across all project phases, with exposure to documentation and design delivery
  • Interest in residential, projects, with a commitment to considered, high-quality design outcomes
  • Computer literacy across Microsoft Office products and presentation software, with architectural software proficiency relevant to the role
  • Sound analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants and internal teams
  • Understanding of general business principles, practices and procedures within architecture
  • Working knowledge of building materials, construction methods and the broader technical requirements of architectural practice
  • Basic knowledge of structural, electrical and mechanical engineering as related to buildings, and applicable codes, laws, rules and standards regulating design and construction
  • A flexible, adaptable and client-focused approach, with reliability, professionalism and a commitment to contributing positively to studio culture
