Job Type:Contract
This is Remote role, candidate need to come onsite once in a quarter for PI meeting to Washington, DC.
The Senior LeanIX Engineer with deep experience standing up SAP LeanIX from the ground up, including platform configuration, data modeling, integrations, and adoption. This role will be instrumental in partnering with the Enterprise Architecture team to define priorities, build and maintain a development roadmap, and deliver measurable value in increments throughout the implementation while bringing industry best practices to establish a sustainable, well-governed EA management capability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the ground-up implementation of LeanIX, including workspace setup, meta-model configuration, fact sheet design, tagging, and subscription/ownership models.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Architecture team to determine priorities, translate EA use cases (application rationalization, technology risk/obsolescence, business capability mapping, cloud and integration architecture) into platform capabilities.
  • Build, own, and continuously refine a development roadmap with clearly sequenced releases, dependencies, and value milestones.
  • Define and enforce the EA data model, taxonomy, and data quality standards; establish authoritative data sources and stewardship responsibilities.
  • Design and deliver integrations with ServiceNow CMDB, HR and identity systems, cloud providers, CI/CD, and other enterprise sources using LeanIX Integration API, REST/GraphQL, and the Integration Hub.
  • Configure reports, dashboards, diagrams, and surveys that enable architecture decision-making and executive reporting.
  • Establish EA governance and operating processes lifecycle management, survey/attestation cycles, data quality scoring, and change control for the meta-model.
  • Deliver value incrementally: release usable capability each iteration rather than waiting for a single big-bang go-live.
  • Bring in industry best practices and benchmark against LeanIX reference implementations; advise stakeholders on out-of-the-box first versus customization.
  • Drive adoption through enablement, training, documentation, and communities of practice across EA, IT, and business stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration baselines, and runbooks; transition the platform to support teams.
  • Define and report success metrics (data completeness, application coverage, rationalization savings, risk reduction, adoption).
Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years in enterprise architecture, IT asset/application portfolio management, or platform engineering, with 3+ years hands-on with SAP LeanIX.
  • Proven experience implementing LeanIX from the ground up in a large, complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of EA frameworks and practices (TOGAF, business capability modeling, application rationalization, TIME/6R analysis).
  • Hands-on experience with LeanIX meta-model configuration, fact sheets, reports, diagrams, surveys, and the Integration Hub.
  • Proficiency with REST/GraphQL APIs, JSON, and scripting (Python or JavaScript) for integrations and data automation.
  • Experience integrating LeanIX with ServiceNow CMDB and other enterprise systems of record.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with EA leaders and stakeholders to shape priorities and roadmaps.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • LeanIX certification (Associate/Professional) or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
  • Experience with application rationalization or technology obsolescence programs delivering quantified savings or risk reduction.
  • Exposure to IT financial management, SAM/HAM, or cloud cost transparency tooling.
  • Experience in a regulated or safety-critical operating environment.
