Lead Software Developer - LIMS (Thermo Fisher SampleManager)

Overview

We are seeking 2 experienced Lead Software Developers with strong Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) expertise to increase development capacity and provide specialist technical support for a major LIMS upgrade programme. The roles will work closely with existing LIMS support, development and delivery teams to design, develop and support enhancements across the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and support of Thermo Fisher SampleManager solutions.
• Develop and maintain custom functionality using VGL, C#, .NET and SQL.
• Configure and enhance SampleManager workflows, forms, reports and integrations.
• Design and support integrations with laboratory instruments and enterprise systems.
• Provide technical leadership, troubleshooting and solution design expertise.
• Support testing, deployment, documentation and ongoing system improvements.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience with Thermo Fisher SampleManager (v12.1 and/or v21.3).
• Strong development skills in:
  • VGL
  • C#
  • .NET Framework
  • SQL
• Experience configuring and customising SampleManager.
• Knowledge of REST/SOAP services, XML and systems integration.
• Experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing and version control.
• Knowledge of laboratory processes and Laboratory Information Management Systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills.
• SC Security Clearance (essential).

Desirable

• Experience with SampleManager v21.3.
• Experience of LIMS upgrade or migration programmes.
• Knowledge of GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 17025 or GMP environments.
• Experience working in regulated laboratory settings.
• Public sector experience.
