Job Description – Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with 12+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Automation, CI/CD, and Site Reliability Engineering. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure as Code.

The candidate will be responsible for designing scalable cloud infrastructure, automating deployments, building CI/CD pipelines, improving system reliability, and collaborating with development, security, and operations teams.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or SRE
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure
• Expert knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Extensive experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Jenkins
  • GitHub Actions
  • GitLab CI/CD
  • Azure DevOps
• Strong scripting/programming experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Experience with Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab
• Experience with Helm and Kubernetes deployment management
• Strong Linux/Unix administration skills
• Experience with cloud networking, IAM, security, load balancing, and storage
• Strong monitoring and logging experience using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor
• Experience implementing automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration management

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications using Docker and Helm.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational processes.
• Develop reusable DevOps automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Implement cloud security best practices including IAM, secrets management, network security, and access controls.
• Monitor application and infrastructure health using monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability platforms.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, performance, and deployment efficiency.
• Implement disaster recovery, backup, high-availability, and failover strategies.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, architects, security teams, and business stakeholders.
• Establish and promote DevOps best practices across development and operations teams.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and continuously improve engineering processes.
• Participate in architecture discussions and provide technical recommendations.
• Mentor junior and mid-level DevOps engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of professional DevOps/Cloud/Infrastructure experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps methodologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of production-critical environments.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and driving DevOps transformation initiatives.
