Hiring: Analytics Engineer II / Data Engineer

Client: Children s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Location: Philadelphia, PA 100% Onsite Duration: 6+ Months Potential: Possible conversion to Full-Time at the end of the contract Employment Type: W2 Only

Position Overview

The Analytics Engineer II will develop and maintain scalable data models, ELT pipelines, and trusted datasets that support enterprise analytics, reporting, and self-service BI.

This role will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, data scientists, and data engineers to deliver high-quality data products while ensuring data quality, performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain dimensional data models and curated datasets.

  • Develop automated and scalable ELT pipelines.

  • Build and maintain Fact and Dimension tables.

  • Implement data quality monitoring, testing, validation, and automation.

  • Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and data scientists to deliver analytics solutions.

  • Support BI platforms, reporting solutions, and dashboard migrations.

  • Follow software development best practices, including Git, code reviews, and CI/CD.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineering, DevOps, and Architecture teams.

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and production support activities.

  • Optimize SQL queries and data models for performance and scalability.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Analytics Engineering, BI, or Data Engineering.

  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex transformations and performance tuning.

  • Strong experience with Data Warehousing and Dimensional Data Modeling.

  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining Fact and Dimension tables.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.

  • Experience developing analytics models using dbt.

  • Experience with data quality testing and validation.

  • Experience with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD.

  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or Business Objects.

  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Hive, or Sqoop.

  • Experience building and consuming APIs.

  • Linux experience, preferably RHEL/Debian.

  • Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or similar languages.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working in Agile environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data and analytics.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools.

  • Experience supporting BI migrations to Power BI.

  • Experience with semantic models and modern analytics engineering best practices.

Education

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.

Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
