Software Development Engineer in Test / SDET - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for a hybrid position (4 days a week in the office) with a Major Financial Institution located in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity.

Compensation: $50.00 - $55.00per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
This role is focused on advancing the quality engineering methodology toward AI-assisted delivery. The ideal candidate will have a development-focused mindset and experience with modern automation tools like TypeScript, Playwright, and Python, contributing to a team that leverages AI solutions and CI/CD principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review requirements, user stories, product specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Assist with the creation of automated test cases and provide support in running, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated test scripts
• Identify smoke and regression test scripts
• Assist QE Leaders to estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities with Development and off-shore QE Team members
• Identify, record, and document defects
• Collaborate with cross-functional project team members to establish and maintain CI/CD principles and ensure automated suites are executed as part of the DevOps pipeline
• Utilize API testing techniques, including automation, to verify APIs
• Execute manual test cases and/or perform ad-hoc testing as directed by the QE Lead
• Provide testing support during the User Acceptance Testing phase, including test data creation
• Provide input to the project's Master Test Artifacts and/or Testing Strategy
• Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and interface groups

Primary Requirements:

• Strong understanding of development concepts including SSO, API Testing, SOAP, and UI
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• SQL experience to query for data validation
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to identify risks
• Must be able to demonstrate how they use AI in their personal or professional life
• Required training to be completed during onboarding: Master Git and GitHub, Playwright, GitHub Copilot, and GenAI for QA Automation

Desired Skills:

• 1-3 years of SDET experience
• Agile experience
