System Engineer

Your new role As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure platforms. You will support core services across compute, storage, virtualisation, identity, and cloud environments, ensuring platforms are secure, reliable, and performing as expected. You will take ownership of assigned platforms, contribute to standardisation and modernisation initiatives, and play a key role in automation, monitoring, patching, and operational support. The role operates with a high level of autonomy and involves troubleshooting complex incidents, performing root cause analysis, and continuously improving platform stability and efficiency.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in systems or infrastructure engineering roles
• Strong hands on capability across Windows Server, virtualisation, compute, storage, and identity platforms
• Experience with technologies such as VMware, Nutanix or Hyper V, Active Directory and Entra ID
• Previous experience with Citrix
• Exposure to automation and scripting, particularly PowerShell
• Experience with platform lifecycle management, including patching and monitoring
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently resolve complex incidents
• Familiarity with ITIL aligned service management practices
• Cloud platform exposure (Azure and/or AWS) is beneficial
