Software Engineer (C# / IMS Mainframe)

Software Engineer (C# / IMS Mainframe) – 6-7 Month Contract

Our Digital team is seeking a Software Engineer with strong C#/.NET development experience and hands-on expertise with IMS (Information Management System) databases in a mainframe environment. This role will support a critical modernization initiative focused on integrating and transforming legacy IMS-based applications and data into modern platforms. The project is actively underway and requires immediate support to help accelerate delivery and meet key milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C#/.NET applications, APIs, and services that interact with IMS-based systems and data.
• Support modernization efforts involving legacy mainframe applications, data migration, and system integration.
• Analyze existing IMS databases, business logic, and batch/online processes to support application enhancements.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to design and implement scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to performance tuning, testing, and deployment activities.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET application development.
• Experience working with IMS DB in IBM mainframe environments.
• Knowledge of mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, or MQ is highly preferred.
• Experience with application modernization, API development, and legacy system integration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced project environment with aggressive timelines
