ALTEN is looking for a motivated and organised Project Manager to support the successful delivery of manufacturing, engineering, and operational improvement projects.

This is a varied role that combines project coordination, stakeholder management, process improvement, and operational support. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to help drive project activities, monitor progress, coordinate actions, and ensure the effective delivery of engineering and manufacturing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering and manufacturing projects.
  • Organise meetings, document key outcomes, and track actions through to completion.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved.
  • Maintain project documentation, reports, and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate activities related to manufacturing equipment, tooling, and operational processes.
  • Support the introduction and implementation of new technologies, equipment, and process improvements.
  • Assist with project reviews, risk management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, quality, and operational performance.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between engineering, operations, and programme teams.
  • Provide day-to-day support to project managers and operational leads.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in project coordination, PMO, engineering, manufacturing, operations, or a related environment.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proactive approach with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, industrialisation, or operational environments.
  • Experience supporting projects within aerospace, automotive, defence, rail, energy, or other technical industries.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and continuous improvement principles
