Help Shape the Future of Technology Procurement at hummgroup. We are a leading diversified non-bank financial services organisation providing business financing, credit cards and point-of-sale payment solutions. We are seeking an experienced IT Procurement & Vendor Contracts Specialist to manage technology procurement, vendor relationships and commercial contracts across our Digital & Transformation portfolio. This role influences technology investment decisions, drives commercial outcomes and ensures partnerships deliver value, innovation and operational excellence.
What You'll Be Responsible For- Procurement & Strategic Sourcing: Lead end-to-end procurement activities across technology products and services including software, hardware, cloud services, telecommunications and managed services. Develop sourcing strategies to optimise cost, quality, risk and business outcomes. Provide commercial procurement advice to technology and business stakeholders. Drive a total cost of ownership (TCO) approach to technology investment decisions. Support business case development and procurement planning.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic technology vendors. Conduct vendor evaluations, onboarding and due diligence. Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations, SLAs and KPIs. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost optimisation and innovation. Maintain vendor governance frameworks and supplier performance reporting.
- Lead commercial negotiations for technology contracts, licensing agreements, Statements of Work and service agreements. Manage contract renewals, extensions and terminations. Partner with Legal and business stakeholders to ensure appropriate commercial and risk protections are in place. Maintain contract registers and proactive management of key milestones and obligations.
- Monitor technology spend, contract commitments and procurement activity. Identify and deliver cost savings and commercial efficiencies. Support forecasting, budgeting and financial planning processes. Provide reporting on vendor performance, spend, savings and contractual obligations.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, regulatory obligations and cybersecurity requirements. Support audit and assurance activities relating to vendor and procurement management. Assist with vendor risk assessments and supplier governance reviews.
You are a commercially minded procurement professional who builds relationships and delivers measurable outcomes. You can confidently engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and have a strong understanding of technology procurement.
Qualifications & Experience- 4+ years' experience in IT procurement, vendor management or commercial contract management.
- Experience in Financial Services or a highly regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of software licensing, cloud services, managed services, hardware and telecommunications procurement.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating complex technology contracts and commercial agreements.
- Strong understanding of supplier governance, vendor performance management and risk management frameworks.
- Financial acumen with the ability to assess TCO, ROI and commercial value.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Proactive, outcome-focused mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Business, Commerce, Law or related discipline. MCIPS qualification (or working towards) highly regarded.
- Experience with Oracle Procure-to-Pay (or similar procurement platforms).
- Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand regulatory environments and vendor governance requirements is advantageous.
