Our client is seeking an experienced Jiva Integration Technical Architect to provide technical leadership and hands-on integration expertise within a healthcare payer environment. This individual will serve as a technical authority for the Jiva platform and will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting integrations between Jiva and the broader healthcare technology ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Jiva Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for the Jiva platform.
- Define integration architecture and technical patterns for connecting Jiva with enterprise clinical, administrative, and data platforms.
- Understand Jiva application architecture, data structures, configuration, workflows, interfaces, and integration capabilities.
- Evaluate technical requirements and translate them into scalable integration designs.
- Work directly with internal technology teams, and other vendors to resolve design and integration issues.
- Lead technical design reviews and provide guidance to developers and integration teams.
Integration Design
- Design integrations using:
- REST and other API-based integration patterns
- File-based and batch integrations
- Data extracts and scheduled interfaces
- Event-driven and asynchronous integration patterns
- Design integration components as required; this is a hands-on architecture role.
- Define interface specifications, mappings, transformation rules, error-handling processes, reconciliation, and monitoring requirements.
- Design integrations for high-volume healthcare data with appropriate scalability, resiliency, security, and performance.
- Support integration testing, defect resolution, deployment, and production stabilization.
Healthcare & Clinical Integration
- Apply strong knowledge of healthcare payer technology and clinical operations when designing solutions.
- Support integrations involving areas such as:
- Utilization management and prior authorization
- Care and case management
- Claims and encounters
- Member eligibility and enrollment
- Provider data
- Clinical data
- Member and provider portals
- Enterprise data and analytics platforms
- Ensure integration designs comply with applicable healthcare security, privacy, interoperability, and data governance requirements.
Architecture & Documentation
- Develop integration architecture diagrams, interface designs, data flow diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation documentation.
- Establish reusable integration patterns and technical standards.
- Assess dependencies, technical risks, scalability requirements, and integration impacts across the enterprise.
- Participate in architecture governance and technical decision-making forums.
Required Qualifications
- Significant hands-on experience with the Jiva Healthcare Enterprise Management Platform.
- Demonstrated experience architecting and implementing Jiva integrations in a production healthcare environment.
- Strong healthcare technology background, preferably within a U.S. health plan/payer.
- 7+ years of overall healthcare technology, software engineering, integration, or architecture experience preferred.
- 3+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise integrations.
- Strong hands-on development experience with APIs, batch/file interfaces, data extracts, and event-driven integration patterns.
- Experience designing integrations between SaaS/platform applications and complex enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of data mapping, transformations, interface error handling, reconciliation, logging, and monitoring.
- Ability to operate at both the architecture and development levels.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively across business, clinical, technology, vendor, and executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Jiva implementations, major upgrades, migrations, or enterprise-scale optimization programs.
- Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, X12, C-CDA, or related healthcare data exchange standards.
- Familiarity with modern integration technologies, messaging platforms, API management, middleware, and cloud integration patterns.
- Experience with Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, or commercial health plan operations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- The individual should be comfortable serving as the senior technical architect while remaining close enough to the technology to diagnose problems, review code and mappings, prototype solutions, and support delivery teams through implementation.
Salary/Rate: $85-$100/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.
