Job Description:

Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Financial Planning

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid –3 Days/Week Onsite)

Duration: Long-Term Contract - (W2 only)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver strategic initiatives for the Financial Planning team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex cross-functional projects, driving stakeholder alignment, and ensuring successful project execution within scope, schedule, and budget. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with experience supporting finance-related initiatives in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end project management for Financial Planning initiatives and strategic programs.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
Coordinate with Finance, Accounting, IT, and business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Manage project risks, dependencies, issues, and change requests while ensuring timely resolution.
Track project progress and provide regular status updates to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Facilitate project meetings, steering committee sessions, and cross-functional workshops.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business objectives.
Drive process improvements and implement project management best practices.
Manage vendor and third-party relationships, where applicable.
Support organizational change management, user adoption, and communication planning.

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of project management experience, including leading enterprise-level initiatives.
Experience managing projects within Financial Planning, FP&A, Finance Transformation, or Corporate Finance environments.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams simultaneously.
Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Azure DevOps.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Bachelor''s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP, PMI-ACP, or Scrum Master certification.
Experience with Financial Planning tools such as Anaplan, Oracle Hyperion, SAP SAC, Workday Adaptive Planning, or OneStream.
Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and planning processes.
Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Workday.
Experience working in large enterprise or Fortune 500 environments.
