Job Description

Data Scientist - Derby Offices (Hybrid) Join a leading technology and services business at the forefront of delivering transformational AI solutions. As a Data Scientist, you’ll work closely with Senior Data Scientists, engineers, and client teams to develop, test, and deploy machine learning models and insights that tackle real-world business challenges. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with foundational data science skills to grow their expertise in a collaborative and client-focused setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models and analytics solutions.<br />Clean, process, and analyse structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.<br />Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify meaningful patterns and insights.<br />Collaborate with senior colleagues and stakeholders to understand business challenges and define requirements.<br />Create clear and effective documentation and visualisations for both technical and non-technical audiences.<br />Contribute to improving data science workflows through participation in code reviews and best practice development.<br />Monitor and maintain model performance, including retraining and validation.<br />Key Skills include: Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modelling.<br />Hands-on experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).<br />Strong understanding of data wrangling, statistics, and exploratory data analysis.<br />Excellent collaboration and communication skills.<br />Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., matplotlib, seaborn, Tableau, Power BI).<br />Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data engineering practices.<br />Knowledge of SQL and database querying.<br />Understanding of model deployment techniques and MLOps.<br />Awareness of AI ethics, fairness, and data privacy.<br />Relevant qualifications (BSc/MSc in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields) would be beneficial.<br />Salary:<br />Salary on offer is up to £45k/ annum, plus excellent benefits
