Job Description

The Metrologist Technician at Conax Technologies is someone who will perform electrical calibration on tooling, gaging, and electrical instrumentation throughout the facility, and support the continuous improvement in all aspects of a fully functional metrology and calibration laboratory.
Essential Functions
  • Shall understand the basic concepts of gage accuracy and repeatability.
  • Calibrate and maintain all measure and test instrumentation devices and equipment used by the facility and personnel in the performance of their duties.
  • Maintenance of Calibration Lab equipment.
  • Prepare outside vendor requisitions and review vendor calibration certifications for compliance to Purchase Order Requirements.
  • Maintain records of inspection equipment calibration and usage dates.
  • Write and revise procedures for equipment calibration and operation.
  • Strict adherence to procedures.
  • Assist engineering by performing testing for new designs.
  • Design, prepare, and recommend test setups/fixturing, as well as acceptance criteria, when requested.
  • Able to analyze and interpret data.

Education and Experience
  • Formal training and certification in Metrology preferred.
  • 1-3 years of (electrical and mechanical) metrology experience preferred.
  • A working knowledge of mechanical equipment: examples include - Calipers, Force Gages, gage Blocks, Hardness Testers, Height Gages, Indicators, Balances, Inspections Gages, Thread gages, Micrometers, Pin Gages, Torque, Weights.
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word (data entry).
  • Minimum education - high school diploma.
  • Candidates must be eligible for employment in the US and meet the requirements of ITAR.

Salary ranges for this position vary by job location and are determined based on experience, reflecting our commitment to recognizing individual expertise and contributions.

Successful Candidate must be able to meet U.S. export control requirements (ITAR/EAR) to gain access to technical data. This position requires access to technology that is subject to U.S. export control regulations. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the US and meet the requirements of ITAR.
