Senior Data Engineer – Google Cloud 

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience building and supporting production-grade data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing scalable data architectures, optimizing large-scale analytics platforms, and delivering reliable data solutions that drive business outcomes.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with BigQuery, Python, SQL, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer/Airflow, along with a proven track record of owning production data pipelines from design through operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop and maintain high-performance data models and datasets within BigQuery.
• Build robust batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines using Dataflow and Apache Beam.
• Develop production-quality data transformation frameworks using Python and SQL.
• Orchestrate and monitor workflows using Cloud Composer (Airflow).
• Monitor production data pipelines, troubleshoot failures, and improve platform reliability.
• Implement CI/CD best practices for data engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, analytics teams, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Recommend architectural improvements that enhance scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on production experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Advanced expertise in BigQuery, including:
  • Performance tuning
  • Query optimization
  • Partitioning
  • Clustering
  • Data modeling
• Strong Python programming skills for production ETL/ELT development.
• Advanced SQL development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Dataflow and Apache Beam for batch and streaming pipelines.
• Experience with Cloud Composer (Airflow) for workflow orchestration.
• Experience supporting production data platforms, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support.
