Job Description
Key Responsibilities
System Leadership & Architecture:
- Drive adoption and adherence to architectural principles and best practices.
- Ensure that teams understand, and adhere to, internal standard approaches.
- Provide technical guidance, advice, and support for our technical teams,
- Document the current state technical design, configuration, and integration of core MGU Systems (Majesco, SEND, PACE, NetSuite, Data Universe)
- Oversee and coordinate design of technical solutions for integration between MGU Systems as well as third-party data integrations.
Operational Reliability & Support:
- Lead incident management, root-cause analysis, and complex troubleshooting for production issues.
- Ensure strict adherence to insurance industry data privacy, security, and compliance standards across all operational environments.
- Document and design processes to identify errors and proactively notify and resolve issues
Business Alignment & Collaboration:
- Partner with UW Operations team members, application Product Owners, and application technical teams to translate complex business rules and guidelines into concise and robust users stories with clear outcomes and acceptance criteria
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of software engineering, system integration, or IT operations experience, with at least 2+ years in a Tech Lead or Senior Engineering role.
- Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) or Life/Health underwriting lifecycles, rules engines, and policy lifecycle management.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, C#, or Python) in order to facilitate vendor discusisons.
- Familiarity with modern underwriting platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, or Majesco) is beneficial.
- A good knowledge and keen interest in AI capabilities.
- Soft Skills: Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical business leaders. Role should be comfortable conducting reviews with vendors and actively challenge thinking
