Investment Banking Vice President- Business Services
Location: Chicago, IL
We're currently working with a leading middle-market investment bank that is looking to add a Vice President to its Business Services investment banking team in Chicago. This is an opportunity to join a highly active M&A platform advising founder-owned businesses, private equity-backed companies, and public corporations across a diverse range of sectors.
The team specializes in advising companies that provide essential outsourced and mission-critical services, including facility services, infrastructure and utility services, engineering and consulting, environmental services, and other business services verticals. The Vice President will play a leadership role across transaction execution, client management, business development initiatives, and junior banker mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day execution and project management of sell-side M&A, buy-side advisory, and other transactions.
- Serve as a primary point of coordination among clients, senior bankers, financial sponsors, legal counsel, and other transaction advisors.
- Develop and review financial models, valuation analyses, transaction materials, and strategic presentations.
- Manage due diligence processes and oversee the preparation and review of transaction-related documentation.
- Draft and review confidential information memoranda, management presentations, investor materials, and other client deliverables.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market developments within commercial and industrial services sectors.
- Support business development initiatives through preparation of pitch materials, market analyses, and strategic frameworks.
- Participate in client meetings, management presentations, and transaction negotiations.
- Help identify risks, resolve execution challenges, and ensure efficient transaction processes.
- Build and strengthen relationships with management teams, private equity sponsors, and prospective clients.
- Mentor and develop Analysts and Associates while maintaining high standards for quality control and execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Approximately 7+ years of investment banking experience, or 4+ years of post-MBA investment banking experience.
- Demonstrated track record executing and closing M&A transactions, with meaningful sell-side advisory experience preferred.
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation, accounting, and transaction execution.
- Ability to manage multiple live transactions and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Previous experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to staff development.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client-management skills.
- Detail-oriented individual with strong project management and organizational capabilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to help grow a leading advisory platform.
Ideal Background
The firm is interested in speaking with current Investment Banking Vice Presidents, Senior Associates approaching promotion, or professionals with substantial M&A execution experience from middle-market or bulge-bracket investment banks.
