Network Security Firewall Engineer (Check Point Certified) with Security Clearance

Position: Network Security Firewall Engineer Check Point Certified
Client: Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
Location: McLean, VA Clearance: Must have DOD Secret Security Clearance Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions to protect DCMA's network infrastructure.
• Administer and maintain Check Point firewalls, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Monitor firewall logs and alerts, conducting detailed analysis to detect and respond to security incidents.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for firewallrelated issues.
• Stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technology advancements to continuously enhance firewall security measures.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including firewall configurations, policies, and incident reports.
• Participate in incident response activities and coordinate with other security teams to address security incidents promptly.
• Train and mentor junior staff on firewall administration and security best practices.

Requirements:

• Active DOD Secret Security Clearance.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a firewall administrator within a DOD environment.
• Strong understanding of firewall principles, protocols, and technologies.
• Proficient in the configuration and management of Check Point firewalls.
• Experience with DOD security policies, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred). Certifications
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• One of the following Check Point Firewall certifications: o Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) o Check Point Certified Security Master (CCSM)
