Job Description

Kit Assembly Specialist
Department: Operations / Fulfillment
Reports to: Fulfillment Supervisor or Warehouse Manager
 Employment type: Full-time, hourly (non-exempt)
About the role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Kit Assembly Specialist to build product kits, bundles, and subscription boxes accurately and efficiently. You'll follow bills of materials and work instructions to pick, assemble, package, and label kits that ship directly to our customers or to retail partners. Accuracy and consistency are the heart of this job, since every kit you build is a customer's first impression of our brand.
Key responsibilities
  • Assemble kits, bundles, and gift sets according to bills of materials (BOMs), work orders, and visual standards, making sure every component is present and correctly placed.
  • Pick components from inventory locations and verify SKUs, quantities, lot numbers, and expiration dates before assembly.
  • Perform quality checks on finished kits, flagging damaged, missing, or incorrect items and resolving discrepancies with your supervisor.
  • Package, seal, and label completed kits using barcode scanners, label printers, and shrink-wrap or heat-seal equipment as needed.
  • Record completed units and component usage in the warehouse management or inventory system so stock levels stay accurate.
  • Keep the assembly station clean, organized, and stocked, and replenish components before they run out.
  • Meet daily production targets while maintaining accuracy standards.
  • Help with cycle counts, receiving, and other fulfillment tasks during slower periods.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting technique and equipment use.
  • Suggest improvements to kitting layouts, workflows, or instructions that could save time or reduce errors.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in kitting, assembly, warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing (or comparable hands-on work).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written and visual instructions precisely.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with handheld scanners or a WMS is a plus.
  • Ability to work at a steady pace on repetitive tasks while staying accurate.
  • Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical requirements
  • Stand or walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
  • Work in a warehouse environment that may vary in temperature and noise level.
