QA Automation Engineer (Exp-8 Years) -Full time-Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, test automation, and automation framework development. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Cypress, JavaScript/TypeScript, BDD, Gherkin, API testing, CI/CD, and modern AI-assisted testing.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks, implementing end-to-end testing strategies, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and improving overall application quality and test coverage.

Mandatory Skills

• 8+ years of experience in QA Automation / SDET
• Strong hands-on experience with Cypress
• Strong programming experience in JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Extensive experience with BDD and Gherkin
• Experience with Cucumber / Cypress Cucumber Preprocessor
• Strong experience in UI, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Hands-on experience with REST API testing
• Experience with Postman, REST Assured, or Cypress API testing
• Strong knowledge of SQL/database testing
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Experience using AI tools for test automation and software quality
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks using Cypress.
• Develop reusable automation scripts using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Create and maintain BDD feature files using Gherkin syntax.
• Develop reusable step definitions, hooks, fixtures, utilities, and custom Cypress commands.
• Automate end-to-end, functional, regression, smoke, and integration test scenarios.
• Work closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Convert business requirements into effective automated test scenarios.
• Execute automated test suites and analyze failures, defects, and flaky tests.
• Perform root-cause analysis and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
• Build reusable automation components and establish automation best practices.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews and provide recommendations for improving application testability.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical guidance on automation practices.

Cypress Automation

• Build robust Cypress E2E and component testing frameworks.
• Automate React/Angular or other modern web applications.
• Implement Page Object / component-based automation approaches.
• Create reusable Cypress commands and utilities.
• Manage test data, fixtures, environment configurations, and test dependencies.
• Execute Cypress tests in headless and parallel modes.
• Reduce flaky tests and improve automation stability.
• Generate and analyze automation reports.
• Integrate Cypress execution with CI/CD pipelines.

BDD / Gherkin

• Develop business-readable automated scenarios using Given, When, Then.
• Create and maintain Gherkin feature files.
• Develop reusable step definitions.
• Implement Scenario Outlines and Examples for data-driven testing.
• Use tags, hooks, backgrounds, and reusable BDD components.
• Collaborate with business and development teams to establish acceptance criteria.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, BDD scenarios, automated tests, and defects.

API Automation

• Design and execute automated tests for REST APIs.
• Validate JSON/XML request and response payloads.
• Validate HTTP status codes, headers, authentication, and error responses.
• Perform positive, negative, boundary, and integration testing.
• Test API workflows supporting web applications.
• Work with authentication mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, and API Keys.
• Use Postman, Cypress, REST Assured, or equivalent API automation tools.

AI / GenAI Testing

• Utilize AI-assisted testing tools to improve test automation productivity and coverage.
• Use AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/OpenAI, Claude, or similar tools for test generation, debugging, refactoring, and test-data creation.
• Generate test scenarios and edge cases using AI-assisted approaches.
• Validate AI/GenAI-powered application functionality where applicable.
• Test LLM-based features for response accuracy, consistency, relevance, and expected behavior.
