Job Description

job summary:

Join a world-class prototyping center assisting in the assembly and validation of next-generation hardware devices. Working directly alongside full-time engineers in a state-of-the-art lab environment, you will play a critical role in bringing custom prototype laptops from individual components to finished products.

salary: $25.27 - 35.27 per hour

work hours: 8am to 5pm

responsibilities:

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assemble and disassemble laptops and electronic devices using precision hand tools.
  • Install, replace, and rework hardware components following engineering instructions and SOPs.
  • Perform functional checks, basic troubleshooting, and device validation.
  • Conduct quality inspections on assembled laptops and thoroughly document issues.
  • Learn laptop assembly workflows to deliver assembled devices on a strict target schedule.
  • Follow strict lab safety procedures and maintain high-quality work standards on prototype gear.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Perform precision disassembly, modification, and assembly of prototype electronic devices using hand tools.
  • Install, replace, and rework internal hardware components according to detailed engineering specifications.
  • Carry out functional testing, basic troubleshooting, and quality control inspections on completed devices.
  • Document technical issues and maintain rigorous adherence to laboratory safety protocols.




qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


2+ years of hands-on experience utilizing precision hand tools (screwdrivers, tweezers, torque tools) on hardware.


Proven background in mechanical assembly, laptop repair, consumer electronics rework, or PC building.


High level of manual dexterity, patience, and attention to detail when handling delicate components.


Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to follow complex SOPs.


Willingness to work 100% on-site in Redmond, WA, including potential overtime during peak production phases.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent hands-on experience.


Prior experience working inside an R&D, rapid prototyping, or hardware validation lab environment.
