Role: AWD/Chorus Business Rules Configurator/BPM developer

We are seeking an experienced AWD/Chorus Business Rules Configurator to design, build, and maintain business rules and workflow configurations within AWD (Automated Workflow Designer) and the Chorus business process management platform. This role is critical to ensuring efficient case routing, workflow automation, and rules-based decision logic that supports processing / document management / operational workflows across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical configuration skills with an understanding of business processes, enabling them to translate business requirements into accurate, well-tested, and maintainable rule sets.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 5+ years of hands-on experience configuring business rules and workflows in AWD and/or Chorus.
  • Strong understanding of business process management (BPM) concepts, case management, and workflow automation.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical configurations.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Experience with testing methodologies (unit, system, and regression testing) for workflow/rules changes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with business and technical teams.
  • Ability to document configurations and processes clearly for knowledge transfer and audit purposes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in insurance, financial services, healthcare, or another relevant industry.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum or other structured software delivery methodologies.
  • Prior experience supporting production incident resolution in a regulated environment.
  • Experience with change management/version control tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy business rules and workflow configurations within AWD and Chorus platforms.
  • Translate business requirements and process specifications into technical rule configurations, work queues, and routing logic.
  • Configure and maintain case types, work types, milestones, service level agreements (SLAs), and prioritization logic within AWD.
  • Analyze existing workflows to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and error reduction.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, process owners, and IT stakeholders to gather and validate configuration requirements.
  • Perform unit and system testing of rule changes prior to production deployment, document test results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration defects, workflow bottlenecks, and rule conflicts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of business rules, configuration changes, and version history.
  • Support change management processes, including impact analysis and rollback planning for rule updates.
  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and integration projects involving AWD/Chorus.
  • Provide production support and root-cause analysis for workflow or rules-related incidents.
  • Ensure configurations comply with internal controls, audit, and regulatory requirements where applicable.
