Senior/Principal/Mechanical Engineer My client is an engineering design consultancy working closely with a wide range of clients, across a number of disciplines within the UK rail and utilities industries. Full time role from the St Albans Office with occasional site visits for which travel expenses will be paid. Hybrid working possible when required provided agreed in advance. Can be contract (outside IR35) or permanent role.

Responsibilities:

Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.<br />Produce design calculations and drawings for the water industry<br />Direct and develop CAD technicians.<br />Prepare scopes for and check output of subcontract M&amp;E design teams<br />Liaise with, prepare specifications for and review tender responses from equipment suppliers and manufacturers<br />Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications.<br />Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards.<br />Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.<br />Estimate hours required for design packages<br />Present at and attend meetings and design presentations Essentials: 5-10+ years' mechanical design experience in the UK water industry<br />Graduate, HND or significant experience from technician level<br />Good level IT<br />Registered with professional body and working towards chartership Desirables: Chartered engineer<br />Awareness of electrical design and control systems<br />Experience in hydraulic design<br />Experience in UMON schemes<br />Experience in wastewater and clean water, infra and non-infra<br />Awareness of construction methods and materials.<br />Knowledge of engineering drawing practices.
