Gallery Automation Engineer / SpecialistOsterley, Greater London (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite)Contract: 6+ Months

Join a leading broadcast technology team supporting live and near-live television productions. We are seeking an experienced Gallery Automation Engineer / Specialist with strong expertise in newsroom and gallery automation systems to ensure seamless, reliable, and scalable live production workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot automated rundown-driven gallery workflows.
  • Manage and support:
    • Vision mixer control
    • Graphics triggering
    • Clip and source recall
  • Support live and near-live productions, ensuring automation systems respond accurately to editorial and operational changes.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across editorial, automation, and gallery environments during live broadcasts.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and deployment of automation updates, templates, and gallery changes.
  • Work closely with editorial, production, and technical operations teams to ensure smooth on-air delivery.
Required Skills & Experience

? Strong hands-on experience with Ross OverDrive and Caprica in live broadcast environments.

? Proven knowledge of newsroom-to-gallery workflows using:

  • OpenMedia
  • Ross Inception
  • iNews

? Deep understanding of MOS workflows and editorial metadata integration.

? Experience supporting automation systems in fast-paced live production settings.

? Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across newsroom, automation, and gallery systems during live output.

Ideal Candidate
  • Background in broadcast engineering, gallery automation, or live production technology.
  • Strong understanding of television production workflows.
  • Calm and effective under live broadcast pressures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with operational readiness testing and automation deployments.
