Site-Based Project Manager – Portsmouth<br />Location: Portsmouth<br />Salary: £64,000 – £65,000+<br />Package: Company Car + Expenses<br />Project Value: £6.5m<br />Start Date: September 2026 – Immediate start available<br />Project: Live Hospital / 4 Laboratories<br />Key Requirement: D&amp;B Project Management + Hospital/Healthcare Experience<br />A nationally recognised construction business is seeking an experienced Site-Based Project Manager to deliver a £6.5m Design &amp; Build project within a live hospital environment in Portsmouth.<br />Design &amp; Build experience and previous hospital/healthcare project experience are essential for this role. The successful candidate will need a strong understanding of working within live hospital environments, managing designers and coordinating a specialist healthcare supply chain.<br />Key Duties &amp;

Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for project delivery from initial site mobilisation/shovel in the ground through to handover.
  • Manage the £6.5m D&amp;B hospital project, including 4 laboratories.
  • Coordinate designers, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
  • Manage the programme and ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the client and project stakeholders.
  • Manage the healthcare supply chain and subcontractor performance.
  • Demonstrate strong contractual awareness throughout project delivery.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact the programme.
  • Manage health &amp; safety, quality and compliance within a live hospital.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
  • Coordinate site teams and ensure works are delivered to programme, budget and required quality standards.<br />The ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven Project Manager experience on hospital/healthcare projects.
  • Strong Design &amp; Build experience.
  • Experience working within live hospital environments.
  • Excellent programme, stakeholder and subcontractor management skills.
  • Strong contractual and commercial awareness
